HOW MANGROVES AFFECT YOUR CATCH
|
Mangroves are important to the fish you love to catch because they provide habitat to them, and prevent the riverbanks from eroding.
If the mangroves are gone, then so are the many varieties of fish that depend on them for habitat, food, and shelter, like the Mangrove Jack and the freshwater barramundi. If the banks wear away and the river broadens, the water will mix with saltwater and the freshwater fish, mud crabs, and freshwater prawns will not survive. If you truly value your catch, help protect the mangroves. |
